Sam - UFO

As the dew shined off the grass and trees, the path was surrounded by trees and bush.  You could see all the way to the end befor it went of to the left.  leafs flew to the ground then spinned and twirled in the wind.  then it all went still…  Suddenly a UFO came over head it crashed just a few meters ahead of me.  The spacecraft burst into flames burning all of the trees around it.  Something came out of the rekedge I started to run in the other direction I ran and ran then all at once...     

Brooklyn - The smell

Whats that i thought to myself as i went past the container that was left on the bench, i could also smell something that smelt a bit strange coming from the kitchen.  Not really thinking about things i kept doing what i was in the kitchen for in the first place, which was to get myself some food after school.  I was about to leave the kitchen and it got the better of me so i opened the lid....and to my surprise there was this unusual looking mixture i stuck my nose down to have a smell and it started to bubble.

Ashley - The unusual present

Once there was a little girl named Zoe.  It was her birthday she got a lot of presents, one of them was nutella jar as soon as she saw it, she ran to the kitchen and grabbed some bread.  As soon as Zoe finished her sandwich, she went and put away her nutella jar into cupboard, but she forgot to put the lid on.  So as she lifted the lid the nutella jar started to grow into some sort of monster, but Zoe didn’t know this was happening because she didn’t read the WARNING on the back of the jar…

Alyssa - The little black chest

Maddison and I walked on a dusty, oaky wooden floor. Our faces tremble in fear, our knees wobbling like jelly and our surroundings," ugh mossy cobblestone walls" as I whisper to Maddison. The room smelled like a sulphur pool mixed with rotten eggs. Maddison sees a old table with a little black chest. We came closer to have a better look at it. ...so as she lifted the lid... I tell her to stop but it was to late, she opens it and the chest screamed at us, mumbling words. What did she do?

Chavawn - The spider

The spider

I was walking down the street when I saw something. A large blue container was sitting in the middle of the road so me and my friend walked across the road picked it up and carried it home.Then as she opened the lid. A humongous hairy spider crawled out of it. It looked at me with its small eyes and its eight legs were slowly crawling up my leg. I didn’t know wether to run or stay still. So I listened to my guts and just bolted for it. I then fell and that’s all I remember.

Jordan - the dogs biscuits

There was a girl named bob and she was very hungry so she looked in the pantry but there seemed to be nothing on the bottom shelf that would satisfy her taste buds. So she looked on the top shelf for yummy. After a couple of minutes she found a jar of chocolate buttons so as she lifted the lid she tried to smell them but then she realised that she had a blocked nose . So then she put her hand in it didn’t feel like chocolate but she didn’t care so she shoved a had full of those things that she thought was chocolate was actually dog food so she spat them all out and ran to the bathroom.

Erana - COOKIES SMELL GOOD

'Mum its baking day today' as ella yelled running down the stairs with excitement.'

'Ok then you better come and make your cookies then' ella's mum yelled.

'Okay mum coming'.

Ella got down stairs and got all of her ingredients out and started to make the cookies.

'Hurry up Ella we only have half an hour until the bake sale'.

'Ok mum i'm just putting them in the box'.

Ella ran up stairs to get dressed for the day.

Once Ella was ready she went down stairs to see if her cookies were still there.

So as she lifted the lid the delicious mouth watering cent of the cookies bursted into her face.

'Lets go Ella'.

Ben - Mrs Pooh bear and the missing honey

There was once a bear that lived in a leaf hut that the bear made, the bear was called Mrs Pooh bear. This particular morning Mrs Pooh bear woke up very happy because it was honey harvesting day, she would go round on the 24 February each year and collect the honey in the big green meadow and each year she gets 4 big jars of honey. She went to the first box and there was no honey she flicked through all of them apart from one so as she lifted the lid there was still no honey. She went back to the hut and researched it and said that they are going into hibernation so they would be back in a year.

Adam - The yact trip

The yact trip

Reggie and sister Nicole and there mum and Dad are going on a yact trip. They leave on the 7 of june. They drove from Nelson to the top of the North Island. They got on there yact at Kerikeri. Then they are sailing arond the Pacific Island heading to Fiji first. A storm gets up and slows them down they see dark clouds and hear thunder and see lightening rain pelts down on them. They get to Fiji and stay with friends and have tea there. Nicole smells the wonderful cooking "whats in the pot"? she askeed "Do you what to have a look"? veplied her friend soas she lifted the lid, she discovered she was about to taste her favourite beef stew.

Blake - the attic

So as she lifted the lid of the attic trapdoor she peered through and saw dark shapes that looked like a robot, but when she turned the light on all they where were filled boxes.  It smelled like damp wood, the floor creaked when she took a step.  Then she saw something odd, one white crate that said ‘do not open this’.  She was so curious, she pushed hard and opened the crate.  All that was in it was a jar.  She slowly put her hand in, the jar felt sticky and slimy like an eel. She pulled her hand out quickly in shock and then laughed, it was only jam.

Anna - The letters

The sun drowned in the horizon, its rays of light scintillating in the darkness of the night. The elegant splashes of pink and red puffy clouds  captivated me, with their beauty and tranquillity. Heading home, I shuffled along the frigid lush grass, my feet getting colder by the minute.  Suddenly I  tripped over an adamantine wooden time capsule. As I lifted the lid dust enveloped me like a warm dressing gown.  Inside there were 12 letters all addresed to Elizabeth McItyre. I skim read one of the tattered letters and realised it was from WW1. Then it hit me Elizabeth McIntyre was the name of my grandma….

Sarah - Boo!

…As she lifted the lid … the clown pop out of the tiny cup lid, she screamed the circus is a very bad place we are leaving and john you are coming with me but mum nope no buts ha ha ha what you said buts oh come on in the car now young boy we have to go home the circus is no place for a three year old boy you can play videos games at home with you want. Zena-The mysterious note!

Huge golden rays of moonlight stream off the calm, beautiful ocean revealing a beautiful little girl sitting alone on a peice of driftwood just staring out at sea with a distant lookin her eyes. Then she seemed to spot something bobbing along in the ocean towards her. She walked cautiously over to the strange object and noticed that it was a floating bottle, but not just any bottle, this one had something in it. So as she lifted the lid she noticed that there was a note in there! She pulled it out and unfolded it. It read:
'SAVE YOURSELF!'

There was once a girl named Rosey.  Rosey was a shopaholic.
She went shopping every day after school and in weekends.  She was a good
bargain hunter but even good bargains couldn't stop Rosey from spending
bucket loads of money.
Spending money made her feel happy and excited.  Just the thought of buying
a new pair of boots made her tingle.  Her walk in wardrobe was overflowing

Large birch trees cast dim shadows over Olivia as she travelled up the cobblestone path to her house.
The magnificent sun just set behind the mountains.
Olivia stepped inside and sat down at the ancient oak desk in-front of her.
She stopped and was interrupted by a appetizing scent.
A large red velvet cake was placed down carefully by her mac-book pro.
Study papers were scattered over a neatly decorated present which reminded her of newly decorated Christmas trees.
Olivia rose with both of her bare hands spread around the present.
But as she lifted the lid, she was overjoyed.

Luke - Rock candy

Tuesday 26 of May Adam and I are doing our rock candy for science fair, we stared with the brown sugar, white sugar, raw sugar and last the icing sugar. Then we put them all in to jars and let them rest for a few days. we got those ones out and they looked real bad so we had to make some more. We did the recipe again and let them rest for a few  more days and we came back to school. They had 3 more days to go. Then Mrs. parker said I’ll open it “ so as she lifted the lid we all said hurray.

MAddison - A morning I will remember

As I woke up I could smell the fresh morning breeze, I could feel the drift of the wind coming from my open window. I jumped out of bed I could see my beautiful ballerina sitting  on my white draws. I race to my door, opened it, and to my surprise there was a little blue box wrapped in pink ribbon. On it, it said OPEN, as I lifted the lid  I could smell something new there was a beautiful necklace sitting in the box with a gold plate on it saying anabell from your family the livingstons. I could have said that was the best b-day present ever.

Tylar - The Legendary Pickle

There once was a legend that involved the legendary pickle... and a girl. One rainy afternoon on Monday a little girl called frank had a day off because she was sick. Frank felt weak, tired, and very sick. She was craving for pickles, so her mom went to the store and bought her some.

1 hour later her mom comes back from the store. She gives the pickles to Frank, the jar said: This will take your mum 1 hour to buy and WARNING... She couldn’t bother reading the rest, as she opened the jar a giant pickle came out and ate her.

The three kiwis cracked up laughing, spluttering and rolling around on the ferns beneath them. "So the girl as she lifted the lid...." The kiwi talking was interrupted by laughter from the other two kiwis. "What's all the racket?!" squawked toucan from the tree above them. "Okay get this.... This girl goes to pick up a box for the mail and a bird flys out of the box!" They all started laughing again. "What's so funny about that?!" Toucan was really confused, why did they think the joke was so funny?! Confused, he flew away ignoring the laughter from below.

Madison - the pot

Once me and my friend were walking in the woods. Then she found a pot we did not Know what was in the pot it looked dirty and it had dust. Then she picked it up so as she lifted the lid I feel a a cold chill go down my back then I looked in side and there were some old coins. I picked one up and looked at it the picture on it disappeared and it had it was muddy. I went home with my friend and we clean the coins then we painted the pot and put on my table.

A small scarlet box sat in the middle of her wooden dresser. Morning came, the girl awoke, she saw the box and realized who it was from. A note was tied to the box. The girl started to tremble, and her knees gave way as she read the note. A tear slid down her cheek as she sat down on her bed. So as she lifted the lid she burst into tears, " Mother! Why did he have to go to war!" she cried. She fell onto her bed and cried, clutching the picture of her Dad in her hand.

Jordan - rage of the winds

As the ferocious wind smashed Nelson with its mighty rage. Trees falling cars tipping and seas were smashing against the rocks along the beach. As people were trying to walk they got pushed about like a rag doll the cars tried so hard to keep the wheels on the ground. As the trees were up rooted it created much havoc for the people on the roads and for people who needed power and electricity. As the rain poured down with the ferocious wind it calmed down in a week or two and the people of Nelson had to pick up the pieces they realised it was over.

Ashley - The unexpected storm

There were two friends, whose names were Zoe and Vicky.  They were playing together on the trampoline outside.  It was a nice sunny day.  Suddenly it got really windy out of no where, so Zoe’s mum told them to come inside.  After they went inside the wind stop and after an hour the wind got really hard started again, But the ferocious wind the toilets got flooded and trees were swaying side to side it also brought thunder, hail and lightning, everyone in their street were scared  that something bad might happen but as soon as the girls screamed

Olivia - .....but the ferocious wind........

We were on the plane for fiji to wellington and the pilot say the ferocious wind is coming. Hold on tight because the plane is going to rock to side to side and up and down so tight your seat belt. We could see the  umbrellas going inside out for the plane window. Me and holly were screaming and laughing because it was a roller coaster . but the ferocious wind didn't stop us for having fun

Sarah - The scars on my back

Date: July 28^th 1987 our first world war has just finished my father died in that war a noble death (like a lot of other family). We all learned that the wars have just started, next then we know there we all where in the trucks shipping off for the cold dark mysterious time world war two. One of the guys in my group got ready to shoot ….. But the ferocious wind… made the bullet changed course and scraped my skin off my back leaving deep marks. I now tell that story to my family every day.
